This company is completely unprofessional. I did a simple return with an approved RMA with verified tracking and they would not give me my refund. I was forced to file a dispute with PayPal to get my funds back. They do not have a working phone where a live person answers and only communicate through e-mail. Buyer beware. Terrible company in my opinion.
5 stars but due to limits on product stock/availablity vs other sites like ebay makes me want to give a 4... Service,shipping,pricing overall however makes it definitely worth while shopping here! Multiple time purchaser of tower hobbies. Payment plan options are really helpful for people on low budget that can only handle a montly single payment.
Buyers Beware - Duplicate charges! I placed an order on 9/10; they shipped on 9/11 (super fast) but they charged me twice! When I contacted them, they said the do authorization when you place an order which is normal business practice and it's good for 7 days but they charge again when they ship (even if it's within that same time frame) so the result is duplicate authorizations/charges and they asked for screen shot of my bank account to fix it. When I refused (for obvious reasons) they told me I was failing to cooperate and to have a good day. I'll have to have my bank step in since both charges completed.

Wish I weren’t writing this review
It really bothers me to have to leave a review like this. Tower is absolutely horrible to work with. Ordered a sim 5 months ago. Have reached out monthly for an update. Same run around each time. “Next month “. On a prior call to see why it hadn't shipped I told them the item was showing as "in stock" as it did when I ordered it. The response was it's out of stock & they are trying to fix that problem that it shows in stock. Customer service is a joke when you can reach them. Called the customer service number again mid day last week and a recording said they were shut down for the day send an email or use live chat. Really??? Sent the email. A week later still no response. Waited on hold for an hour and a half today. Finally spoke with a rep who sounded like he could not have cared less. His resolution to the problem was let me check the warehouse and I’ll send you an email. When I asked for any additional details as to what/ when that might look like he simply repeated let me check the warehouse and send you an email. I guess they don’t have a computer system that could tell him? I hate to say this as I want to support them and the hobby which is why I spent the money to join the Super Saver Club which is another waste. On a prior call I asked why I had 610 points pending. The answer- you won't get credit until all items are shipped! Over $850 in merch shipped but since 1 item hasn't my points- which I would use to purchase additional items- have not been awarded. Hobby shops in my area don't really do planes or I would support them. They do cars, trucks and crawlers if that's your vibe go to your local hobby shop if not go to Amazon instead. The products can often be found for less and you are guaranteed a shipping date.

I ordered a S2200 charger which is $279 regular price and was on sale for $239.99. So I ordered that and some other parts for my son, and I needed for our cars on above date. The order went to Fed X which took 48 hours to pick up, then you can’t get any tracking info. I had to call and get someone to verify that the shipment was pulled and shipped. I sent in three requests for information. Then someone from Towerhobbies or Horizon on a call back named Thomas told me that it was on the way, and that the order was coming out of California which was the charger. The other parts for the cars are coming out of Champagne IL. The updates for that were slow. The main warehouse in Champagne didn’t have it so it had to be brought in from California. So here it is 12-11-2024 and still no updates that are even consistent. First It was, when the package starts moving we’ll update the delivery date. When it did they stated Wednesday the 11th. That where we are today where it states arriving between 10:20 and 2:20, well we will see. This seems to be a regular thing with this company, seeing from the reviews it when they need to make some easy money. I believe that the credit card company’s and other company’s that handle your accounts are in this with company’s to help them survive. That what it seem like. Just FYI since Horizon bought Towerhobbies this all started. I was also wondering when they did that big computer enhancing they said, “ it was so they could better serve there patrons,” well I’m not seeing it and the people who have left there reviews here haven’t. Good luck. I hope you get your money back, and I hope I get my product.

Backordered Items Not Marked
Ordered 4 batteries. Not a place on there said the batteries were out of stock or backordered until after they had my money. Could not find anywhere on my "Profile" to cancel the order. Took a while to get an email back to cancel my order. Mark your products as out of stock and make it easier to cancel orders!

In stock items order not shipped after 2 weeks
My order is marked as shipped but there is no tracking number. It has being 2 weeks since I bought the items and they were in stock so they should have arrived. I contacted the chat but the assistant told me there was no tracking and exit the chat. Second time this happened on the last 3 orders. I do not recomend this shop anymore. It gets worse every month since Horizon took over.

No customer service # to call for…
No customer service # to call for starters. In this day and Age? Things on site show in stock only to find out after I ordered they are on back order. And found this out from Horizon? Seems like nobody is talking to one another. Very confusing.
Tried to cancel another order yesterday after I could get no info on status of item. My account indicated item for 2 days, shows awaiting shipping .Tried canceling again today. They told me it shipped? How.? No emails, Nothing in Spam. I was told my email service was blocking it. Funny how my orders were still coming through email. Also, every sentence from rep ended in "is there anything else I can help you with?" No sorry, no we understand, nothing. Its like nobody over there cares. Very unfortunate and bad experience. Too bad. They used to be great.

Don't expect to receive your purchase. A scam!
About 90% of their planes are on backorder and they do not give you any updates. They put planes on sale knowing they cannot get them but still charge your credit card. Cannot speak to a live person! I want to cancel my order but cannot find any way to do so . I wish I had read the reviews prior to purchase. Nothing like the Tower used to be. I heard they are now part of Horizon Hobbies so I will not buy from them either.

I bought a new plane that was discounted because of cosmetic damage, it arrived with a dead electronics package. Tower hobbies advertised it as working, and now refuse to send either a replacement or even a new board for me to replace. False advertisement for sure.

STOP!!
STOP!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GETTING YOUR HOPES UP FOR A GREAT DEAL THAT MAY NOT HAPPEN!!! Ordered a truck in August. It's now over 3 months and I still haven't received the item. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Their only solution after 3 1/2 months and several email correspondence was to tell me they can refund my money....nothing was said about simply getting me the product I ordered. JUST HORRIBLE!!!!

They used to be great. Not anymore.
Tower Hobbies used to be my go to place for RC airplanes and things. I have used them for decades. My recent experience with them has been a major turn off. I know they have been bought out by Horizon Hobbies and I am not sure how that will ultimately play out for them.
I got an email that said sign up for the Super Saver Club and get a 20% off coupon. No restrictions. I used to be a member of the club because they offered shipping on lower dollar value orders and paid back better points so I thought, "Why not?" 20% off is a good offer and I can get the cost of the membership back easily.
I signed up for the Super Saver Club and it says you should receive your coupon within 24 hours via email.
After almost a week of never getting a coupon I reached out via their contact us page to find out about my coupon. I got the email that said they usually respond within 24 hours.
Almost a week later I get an email from a customer service representative and he apologizes and provided a coupon code. That evening I sat down to put an order in. When I put the coupon code in it said it was unable to apply the coupon. I replied to the email and asked what to do since the coupon was not working. The representative replied that the coupon had expired and to have a nice day.
I responded and questioned why a coupon code I was given that morning had already expired. His last response was he would check with his "super" and get back to me. I still haven't heard anything.
It is very frustrating. The only reason I signed up for the Club was for the coupon. If they are going to advertise an offer I would expect them to stand behind it. Apparently that is not the case with them anymore.
Sad because they used to be a great company to work with.
Several days after joining the club I got the email asking for feedback. I have been waiting to see how they resolve the issue before responding to that request. I figure at this point it is time to finally respond to their request for feedback.

Towerhobbies used to be the best online retailer of hobby grade kits, parts, tools and supplies. Around 2018-ish Tower was purchased and the entire consumer experience went downhill from there. I used to purchase from Tower regularly from about 2008 until about 2017 or 2018 when it went downhill. Here are the issues I have. 1. Tower doesn't carry much, they only carry a few brands and what they do have is very generic. I am sure they'll tout that they carry 13 brands or something, but in reality when your looking for an RC car kit for example you'll have like 2 choices at best. 2. Other sites carry a ton of "boutique" and independent brands from smaller companies, not Tower, they only carry the big brands (and not even all the big brands). 3. Their website is awful, try doing a search for something like "tape" and the results you get are extremely limited. I often have to search by part number as I can't find anything on their website. 4. They never have what you need or want, ...guess that goes into #1 above (they don't carry anything). They seem to be focussed on the 1st time buyer who doesn't know much about the hobby so can just go to the site pick something and buy it. For the enthusiast this site doesn't offer a lot. Sadly Tower used to be the best, not sure what happened internally, but i'd say they are among the worst now. :(

Paid with Pay pal, they refuse to send item even after sending them a photo copy of payment, States Attorneys office has over 2,000 complaints of fraud involving Tower hobby, this will be the hardest money they will have stolen and look forward to seeing them in court

THEY ADVERTISE, TAKE THE ORDER BUT DO NOT SHP
I have been waiting for an item on Back Order for almost a year..... During June customer service rep suggested me to place the order so that when that item arrives, I would be on the beginning of the list....
An order was placed on July 30th.... About a week after I received an email saying that the item I wanted was in stock. ..... I have an order confirmed by them . Status after almost 30 days...."processing" In other words, they are advertising the item in stock, take the order but do not ship..... Now that I decided that since they dont ship I dont want it . Customer Service rep says it can't be cancelled .. This is a JOKE ! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM ! Horrible Customer Service Experience.
