Disappointed. My Rachio Died After Just 2 Years
My Rachio Controller completely died going into its third year. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m on the side of people who believe products like this should last more than a couple of years, especially at this price point.
Here’s the message I received from their support team:
"In your case, you have a light 1 issue, which is a booting error; the controller is not powering on completely, and if the steps didn't work, I'm afraid the controller is no longer functioning.
I’m checking your warranty, and regrettably, your controller is no longer covered. However, we currently have a great deal on a replacement for you. These refurbished units come with the same 2-year warranty as our new controllers and have passed rigorous quality control testing. In fact, many of these units have never been installed and are simply repackaged returns. They are currently available on Rachio.com for $150, plus tax and shipping. The regular retail price is $200."
So basically, the solution is to spend more money on a product that already failed once in less than three years.
