The right tool makes any job easier. That’s especially true in the kitchen. The problem is, people have to choose between cheap, low-quality kitchen tools and overpriced “premium” brands. Neither of these seemed like a good option, so we decided to make something better.

Bait and switch on Christmas delivery & poor service
I ordered a pan and accessories in mid December that was advertised to arrive for Christmas. They charged me fully and shipped only the accessories. Customer service email said pan would ship in 5-7 weeks and apologized for the "minor delay" (?!) I have received no follow up of any kind 5 weeks later

Great customer service
I appreciate a company that stands behind their products. I have purchased several non stick pans as well as a carbon steel wok from Misen. I love the carbon steel wok, it is of good quality and cooks well. However, I was less than satisfied with one of the non stick pan as the surface level was not even. I reached out to the company and after sending them a video that proved how uneven it was, they offered me credit that I could use to replace the pan or purchase another pan. I chose to get a larger pan and that pan has worked great. I am overall very happy with the way the company resolved the situation and would buy from them again in the future.

False promises
About three years ago, I backed the Kickstarter campaign for the Misen Dutch Oven. They claimed it would be the best, most durable, and non-chipping Dutch oven. They even guarantee its non-chipping on their website, demonstrating it by dropping the lid onto the pot and dropping a metal ball onto it.
Unfortunately, mine started chipping around the rim. I was a little disappointed, but I thought I'd contact Misen since they guarantee everything.
That's when my frustration went from bad to worse. I was told that chipping around the rim is normal and isn't covered under their guarantee (so why do they advertise it on their website?). They sent automated replies, kept asking for more and more information, and in the end, I got another automated response saying they couldn’t help me.
I feel pretty foolish for falling for their smooth talk, and I regret not buying a quality pan from a reputable company instead.

Poor Customer Service, Defective Pans
@misenkitchen I have contacted your customer service over pans I believe are defective. I bought 3 carbon steel pans followed the instructions on seasoning them and they produce a horrid smell when cooking and have rusted. Since I travel for work I could not cook in them right away and missed my 3 month return. I was asking for at least an exchange for products I can actually use, even if I had to invest more $ on a different product. Your customer service team offered me a $25 gift card, I spent $272.46 on your products. What a joke! Also the company keeps deleting my comment on their IG of my poor experience, not trustworthy or transparency from their part.

Misen Products Perform
I am an experienced in-home cook and baker that has used the same set of German knives (Starts with H) for 30 years and decided it was time for a replacement. I purchased the three piece set and the serrated knife. They are incredibly sharp, well balanced and sturdy. Be aware when sharpening, they have a 15 degree blade angle, which is more typical of Japanese knives.
Non stick pans (8 and 10 inch) followed the knife purchase. They cook flawlessly and I suspect those with complaints/defects didn't follow the instructions to not exceed medium high heat.
Customer service is superb. I recently noticed the tip had broken off my Chef's knife. I sent an email not expecting it to be covered under warranty for accidental damage, but inquiring if it could be repaired. Within 12 hours I had a response asking for a photo of the damage and hours after that my new replacement Chef's knife was shipped.
Great products, reasonable prices, great customer service. I'm a Misen customer for life.

I love the way these knives stay sharp…
I love the way these knives stay sharp and even if I have to sharpen them alittle, they still cut the same as the day I bought them. I have the 4 pc. set and I find that Misen knives are even better than the first set of knives that I bought many, many years ago.

I am very disappointed in the quality…
I am very disappointed in the quality of misen pans. After a couple of years using their non-stick pan it developed a bubble in the middle a the peeled.

Go elsewhere and not Misen
I decided to give this company in their kickstarter a try and it turned out the pan barely lasted that long and it costed a lot. You would think it'll last for a long time but it's risky. Apparently a few years later they said I sent an email on Facebook telling them that I requested a new pan and to some place in Oregon. You would think they would verify this by email before doing so but no and apparently I never knew till I got a email from this company saying my pan was delivered. Well lucky this Johnny guy or something because I do not live in Oregon. The company wouldn't send me another to my actual address nor refund me so ok well I don't think I'll ever and also, I advise people to not do so as well to order anything from this company.

In stock item never shipped.
I ordered and was charged for the Misen chef's knife on 12/13/23. It was shown as "in stock." I did not receive any shipping information per the order confirmation and contacted customer service on 12/20. I received a formulaic response stating the knife was "re-ordered" and that it would ship 3 - 5 business days after the 21st.
??Two weeks to ship an in-stock item?? So much for receiving it by Christmas.
By the way, I have ordered knives from Misen previously and was extremely pleased with both the knives and the service.
The lack of a phone number for personal contact reflects poorly on their commitment to real customer service.

How to earn a lifetime customer 101
I sent a questioning email to customer service as I was just curious to find out if a minor defect was covered under warranty and within 24 hours I had a personal response as well as a replacement pan (with a bonus!!!) confirmed and set to ship my way ASAP. Honestly the best customer service I could possibly ask for. I didn’t get her last name but Andrea @ Misen is about as on the ball and easy to deal with as ANY customer service rep I’ve ever worked with. Honestly, any doubt about me being a lifetime Misen customer is gone, I’m 100% team Misen!!!!!

Exemplary customer service!
Due to a third party sharpening vendor my entire Misen knife set seemed to "disappear" without a legitimate explanation. Allie who is with Customer Success at Misen stayed in communication with me throughout the process of attempting to locate and return my knives. While that effort was not successful, she sent a new set of knives to me as quickly as possible. She recognized the futility and frustration I was experiencing and immediately made me feel better which is what exemplar customer service should be about. Allie rocks!

I absolutely love these pans I'm a professional chef I use these in my home they they take a lot of abuse, whenever I do have an issue it is taking care of promptly and courteously The last issue I had one of the handles of my 10-in saute pan was starting to wiggle and they just replaced the whole pan no questions asked awesome company I think I've purchased five or six pans at this point.
