Terrible experience with La Poste International.

My family sent me a package from the U.S. to France via USPS First Class International. The address was completely correct, but La Poste flag
ged it as an "incorrect address" and immediately marked it for return — without even attempting delivery or holding it at a local post office, as is standard protocol.

Now, nearly two months later, the package hasn’t arrived in France or been returned to the U.S. It’s simply lost — and La Poste refuses to give any information about its whereabouts.

When I contacted customer service, I was told that only USPS can request an investigation. USPS, in turn, refuses to do so because the service was not insured. So I’m stuck in a loop where La Poste won’t help without USPS, and USPS won’t act at all.

Absolutely no accountability, no transparency, and no basic customer service. I’ve lost my package and neither postal service is willing to take responsibility. Deeply disappointing.

This company takes the p@ss. You deliver a parcel asking for a customs payment of 24 euros. I give you 30 and you want to keep the change as you do not have a CB payment machine. Why would ANYONE give you 30 euros to walk off with when the payment is only 24 euros? You really take the mick! You even then changed the payment to read 24 instead of 30 when I demanded my change? What kind of idiots do you think your customers are? I’ll give you a tip if you want one that badly….improve your customer service.

Sent a parcel to friends in france. It's not moved in a month, says it passes customs then says its back, no ERIO number but its not a business parcel. La poste is terrible if you can get it sent another way. Please do. I have sent 3 emails, I have converted the web to english, tried all ways possible to get in touch. They don't care.

It's now one month that the colis I sent is still in the first logistique centre of la poste. I tried to find out about the problem at the local post office, where I had sent the colis from, I tried to get the attention online through this ridicules procédure there, but nobody, nothing helps... The parcel is still there and nobody cares. It's so expensive to send a parcel, you would think they care about customers, but absolute nothing. Very very bad service. They should be ashamed. One star is certainly too much.

Posted a parcel from Ireland to France on December 9th 2024. It's still in transit. It's now February 2025 and no tracking update since December 11. Absolutely disgraceful. No way of contacting them to find out where my parcel is. It's the second time this has happened. A letter I sent has also not been delivered. Hopeless , with zero customer service. A number to call from customers outside France is a joke. When you ring it cuts off. I've now rang 223 times and nothing. I will definitely pay extra for DHL next time. Never again

Sent to wrong country every time

Update

La poste everytime i am sent a parcel by them they send it to the wrong country every single time.
Before they would correct it and still update its location and its status of the parcel.

Now they sent it to the wrong country without a way to contact them. And its been well over a month without them giving me my parcel already. And well over a month since they updated its location.
And it it wasn't for australia post ( because it was sent by mistake to australia ) i would have remained in the dark about my parcel.

And its a very time senstive one i'm telling you.

Iraqi post that has a Rundown Website and almost no advanced technology at all not even a tracking tool does a better job by sending Mail and packages then they do. You would not even have to track or contact them because you will know for sure your mail will reach you in time

THEY ARE THE WORSE SERVICE YOU CAN DO BUSINESS WITH. If you have money to spare choose DHL or any reputable Courrier

Update:
After 3 monthes of Waiting for an Answer from them. They have the Audacity To tell me that Its lost. And they will Return 3 euros to me.

Please Do not Use la poste Again.
They will Tire you Out

shocking service

after using La Poste since living in france for almost 12 years, they have always been great. but recently an item has gone missing, and there is no way to contact La Poste beyond writing a letter, which i have now done

i made contact with them in twitter, but they said they only deal with questions in facebook, so i did that, no reply after 8 days - filling in a form on the website you have to have details that i dont have

i think the item was sent for my birthday, from a friend, so i dont have the sent details, the name of the person, but even if i make them up, the form at the end gives an error anyway and states ' there is an error, try again another time' days later its still the same

its a very confusing process of just trying to find out where an item is, when they responded in twitter it was quite easy to follow up on items, now, it seems impossible

so, i have now sent a letter, do i have confidence that it will be resolved by letter ? no - but am more than happy to edit this review if indeed my item is found

Beaten by every other courier.

My recent experience after 10+ years of regular exporting:

UK to USA: Average of 7 days.
UK to Philippines: 10 days.
China to UK: Average of 7 days.
UK to Germany: Average of 5 days.
UK to France: Tracking stops after 6 days, parcel fails to be delivered after 11 days.

La Poste is abysmally sub-par compared to the vast majority of state and private couriers in early 2025. Do better! As if the French recycling act and GPSR haven't caused enough issues for exporters!

It seems I am not the 1st to give La Poste 1 star. I would strongly suggest that Amazon and other companies offering online shopping avoid using them as 90% of all deliveries don't get delivered. The staff at La Poste have now learnt that if they don't deliver our parcel then we will go and collect it, which is the usual routine. They now don't even bother to ring the bell. If it does not fit in the letter box then it is not delivered. Horrific service.

Worst parcel deliver experience ever.

Worst parcel deliver experience ever.
They are responsible for shipment of parcel from AliExpress. The parcel arrived EU customs with 10 days delay. It sucessfully passed customs and should be transferred to DPD on 31 Decemeber 2024. Today it is 7th January 2025 and the parcel was not transferred to DPD. Parcel number cannot be found on La Poste parcel tracking web page. I cannot contact La Poste in any way. The chat is only in french. The contact-form is not working (I cannot type the topic). The email-address is not given. La Poste web page is crashing, and there is not english version. Some subpages are not translated by chrome so they are displayed in french.

Has had trouble sending a small parcel from France to Australia. Abandoned somewhere and not moved? since 13 DEC 2024. Now almost 5 JAN 2025. Expected delivery by 6 JAN 2025. Good luck. Will ask eBay for a refund on the 7 JAN 2025. Will never purchase from Seller again. Seller advised LaPosta = LaCrapa when it wants to be. Their website makes no sense, even when translated into English.

Ordered package to Finland from France. Package has been 9 days in france and tracking hasn't updated in 4 days at all. Over the top delivery costs 25€ from france. It would be quicker to just walk to Paris and back.

LaPoste is incapable of sending a simple letter

LaPoste is entirely incompetent.
It is incapable of sending a simple letter overseas.
It jeopardized a personal situation, and was a waste of €6,95 to send a priority letter (3-4 days) from Paris to a major city in the US. This was a simple letter, not a package. Over 10 days later, the letter still has not been delivered. IF I UNDERSTAND CORRECTLY, YOUR BUSINESS IS TO SEND MAIL. LETTERS. IT'S EVIDENT THAT THIS AGENCY IS NOT CAPABLE OF THE SIMPLEST OF TASKS. I WANT MY €6,95 RETURNED. But of course, it would take 100 hours of my time wasted to navigate the bureaucracy of this horrid institution. It simply reinforces the reputation of the French government as a bureaucracy-laden garbage heap of inefficiency. But they do make decent croissants, evidently.

Worst post service

I ordered a package specifically to a post office as I know that there always are issues when trying to deliver to your home. They did not care and said that they will deliver to my home, even though I specifically asked them not to. No option to change the delivery location, of course.

Was home the whole day and get a notification saying that I was not home and the package could not be delivered, as usual. My package would be redirected to a post office. Been missing for 5 days now with no help and not a single English speaker in their customer service.
