Charged me for a 3 month subsription without warning despite not using it. Wouldnt give refund as they claimed its in their Terms and Conditions for signing up to the app in the first place. Awful. Do not bother 😂
I used to enjoy using Headspace and I recently sued the free trial and cancelled it, but I recently got charged and I requested a refund. They told me I missed the cancellation period and that I can continue to use the app for year. I was not happy with this especially as I have cancelled it and the app videos are all locked, so I am very concerned with how I have been charged for something that I cannot use.
As many have already said this company has a terrible reputation for subscription traps. Totally contrary to the image they like to portray they have caused many no end of stress. I will be avoiding forevermore.

Subscription cancelled, but payment still taken
I cancelled my subscription 11 May last year and have an email to prove it. In spite of this they took a PayPal payment on May 1st this year. PayPal have opened a case, but so far no response from Headspace.

Canceled within the trial period
Canceled within the trial period, but they're charging me a full year. The customer support is completely ignoring me, closing all of my requests for an explanation. A bunch of thieves.

To me it's looks like a scam
To me it's looks like a scam. They give you a 'free trial', no more info about trail or it's ending but charge you for a year's fee! I had no intention of signing up for a year! When contacted they say it has nothing to do with them but iTunes and you can't request a refund from them. It does not make sense. I'd suggest avoid. Don't be tempted with the free trial

Liars
Liars !
They will sign you up for the free trial, won’t send you an email to tell you it is over and bill you a full year.
Then in contact with the team they assured me they removed me from the subscription and cancelled auto renewal, one year later I was once again billed for one year without any reminder what so ever.
Total mess

A little disappointed to be completely honest
I joined following the interactive content being removed from Netflix because I'd come to depend on the 'countryside train' sleep story to get me to sleep when I'm struggling. It's not on the website and email requests are answered by people who do not have the ability to resurrect it even if they wanted to. I will happily renew my annual subscription into nx year if someone senior in headspace can add this content back onto the app or explain to me why this is not possible (does the sleep story belong to the narrator and not Head Space itself, or is it just administratively awkward because it's on an old data base or something?). Please can someone in headspace answer my enquiry fully? Thank you in advance. I have tried (and continue to try) other sleep stories but they're simply not as good - the narrator of countryside train is better (his tone and pace is better - for a sleep story), as is the sleep story itself (it genuinely transports me to a happier place in my mind). Please help!

Scam
Scam! They are making it seem like you are signing up for a 14-day trial, but actually you are signing up for a year which then includes a 14-day free period. Won’t refund me.

They will renew you automatically and…
They will renew you automatically and lie about having sent a reminder email. They then refuse to refund you, even in the same day of renewal. Scammers!!!

I got charged 1 year subscription when I was in trial version. They replied they can't do nothing cause I have subscribed by google playstore..... google bot can't see anything wrong.
This system must need to be changed. I not even using the app cause has not any use for me... I would have preferred give that money to who really need it... not them!
The funny thing I thought I was an unfortunate case... but here there are many like me!!!! 💀💀💀

Fan since 2021
I have used this app since 2021. There was a while that I didn’t use it, then picked it back up again a while back. I see many have issues with the subscription. I did have an issue back in 2023, they were responsive and corrected the issue but that was back in 2023. It should be noted that I continually have issues w/ 99% of most all other subscriptions I have, so it is what it is, I’m sure I’m not alone here. I always make certain to check NO automatic renewal. This cannot be done from your phone. I also always cancel and get new credit cards yearly so that no online subscription (renewal or no renewal) can pull from my account. It’s extra work yes, but in the 2025 climate worth the security. That said, I do really like this app. I like the daily “sets” that I can play or skip. I also really like the AI Ebb for daily journaling. I can write, it summarizes my thoughts and archives it; very nice feature.
I do wish they had more sleep time stories. The narrator, Simon of “Slow Train” is apparently a fan fav. that is what originally got me to sign on; as is “Rainy Day Antiques.” I wish they would get Simon to do more of them. I do hope they work to fix their issues because I do find value in their service. At $69/yr or $5.75/m last time I checked, it is for me at least, my preference over any cable TV subscription.

NOT a ‘free trial’
Just signed up for a 2 week free trial and they charged me for a full year. Scammers.

Terrible company
Terrible company. Never used the app. The charged me for another years subscription and when I tried to cancel it on the same day, they refused to refund me. Completely unethical, do not use.

Used to be good now it's about the money
I have used this app very successfully in the past so decided to try it again. Unfortunately the updated version has so much more content it is confusing and frustrating to navigate. My questions to the helpdesk were ignored. There are several teachers in addition to Andy now, all American. It would be nice if there were a wider variety of voices. The main thing I dislike is the new 'Today' page featuring a course I have zero interest in. This greets me each day and it is not possible to change this. I also get the Ts&Cs to approve every single day which is tedious. I canceled the recurring subscription straight away (I always do this as a matter of good practice as I like to be in charge of when money leaves my account) but I note many reviews by users who didn't take this measure and have had money taken again. Headspace claim not to be able to refund people. I'm very disappointed in how money orientated Headspace has become and I can no longer listen even to Andy and feel they have my interests at heart.

Scammers! Avoid
When attempting to cancel my subscription, I was offered a year’s renewal at half the price of normal, which I accepted. To then get charged full price, with a response over email, stating they wouldn’t refund me (even though I was falsely offered it at half price). Avoid this app, unless you want to get ripped off!

Don't pay for the app
Don't pay for the app, they don't care about your experience after you've paidm Every time I go into the app it tells me they've updated their terms and I need to agree to them. This has happened several times a day for 3 months. I've reported this and they've done nothing. I'm going to try a new app. I'm very annoyed that I paid for a subscription and they don't seem to car enough to get it resolved. Don't pay for the app

Customer service stop replying when you ask for a refund. Pre written replies only.
You cannot remove pathways from the app once selected and the app creators are aware of this but don’t want to allow users to remove added pathways.
For anyone who experiences pregnancy loss during using this app you then can’t remove this pathway from your everyday page. Meaning everyday you need to see this reminder on your phone.
When requested a refund for not being able to use the app in a way that was good for mental health customer service stopped replying as they have done with most of the other reviewers here.
It’s another profit making business with no care for their customers. Not good for mental health. Do not subscribe.
