Fraudulent charges
The lessons are fine but they will make fraudulent charges to your account and not respond to attempts to contact them. Unfortunately I would avoid at all costs.

Company will not cancel subscription and has been impossible to get a hold of. I cancelled in April of 2023 and see that they have been charging my account even after I canceled. Fraudulent company with zero customer support. Save yourself money and the hassle, stay away.

Platform is a poorly designed mess, instructors spend entirely too much time talking and making analogies. You can’t just talk at length about the abstract parts of programming and hope to bridge the gap with pictures and stories about filing cabinets.
You need realtime visual feedback to help teach a 9 year old.
Courses inspire frustration, confusion, and tears. Will bore your child to tears if they’re not willing to stick around and suffer through the videos and buggy platform.
Also, the code created by their native app for starting up Minecraft modding does not match what’s displayed in the videos.
The course was $100, on sale for $60. It’s not worth more than a couple dollars.

Coding Classes worth taking. My son learned several different coding languages. The instructors were helpful.

A great experience for kids -- fun and they learned a lot.

After trying multiple coding apps for my kid and being disappointed over and over, we have finally found exactly what we needed.
Pros:
Great variety of courses and technologies for all levels of skill
SUPER fun and engaging instructions even for adults :)
User friendly site and education process
Cons:
For more advanced classes you need to download an installer. It took me some time for our mac to allow installing it as I did not understand right away that it's not allowing it because of my settings (only allow downloads from app store).
All things considered, this is a definitely top tier provider. I'm now considering doing their private tutoring for my kid. If their self paced program is that good, I can only imagine how great their private tutoring will be. Will make sure to follow up once I try.

It is hard to write a review of CodaKid without the risk it will seem like a paid review :) But we are very grateful that our son could attend 1:1 lectures on Minecraft modding for several years. It started during Covid and helped him stay engaged and curious, so he has advanced his Java skills. The teachers changed sometimes, but all were very friendly, and our son never complained. I had no problem with communication, too.

Support is very slow. Communication is appalling. Customer service non existent. I signed up because my son really loves Minecraft and was interested in trying out some modding. I specifically contacted them in advance to inquire as to whether any particular computer specifications were needed to be able to use codakid.com. i was told that if the computer could run Windows 10 or 11 then it would be fine. What they failed to explain is that for applications such as Minecraft or ROBLOX or other there are specific requirements needed and it turned out that none of the computers that I own have those requirements. They were not interested at all in seeking resolution or apologizing for their lack of communication and misinformation. I would not recommend this website to anyone, steer clear.

Support does not exist. No solutions are provided to the quizzes.
We are stuck on the Python Robohacker level 4-9
How is one supposed to learn when there is no guidance as to what "good" looks like?
I DO NOT recommend Codakid at all.

My Oldest has been using codakid for a couple of months now, it's incredible to see how quick he's taken to it, great site, thank you
